What is SecOre?
SecOre is a reloadable prepaid card that offers a fast and secure method for receiving payments. Your earnings are instantly accessible, giving you the power to take control of your finances.
What if the card doesn’t work?
If your card isn’t working, first ensure that it has been activated. Then, check that your intended purchase doesn’t exceed your card balance. Make sure you’re using your card at a merchant that accepts MasterCard. If you still have trouble, feel free to contact SecOre customer service or visit your local EMR depot for assistance.
Is there a fee for loading money?
Yes, there is a fee of 1.85% of the amount you load onto your card, which is much lower than other cards available, meaning you keep more of your money.
Where can the card be used?
You can use your SecOre card at any location that accepts MasterCard.
Is there a Foreign Exchange fee?
If your transaction involves currency conversion, a foreign exchange fee of 1.50% will apply.
How many ATM withdrawals can I make in a day?
You can make up to 6 ATM withdrawals each day.
How do I replace a lost or stolen card?
If your card is lost or stolen, you can quickly and easily order your replacement through the SecOre app. It takes just seconds and gives you peace of mind that your new card will be with you very soon.
How long does payment take to reflect?
Payments are reflected instantly, so you can count on quick transactions!
Is it safe to use?
Absolutely! The SecOre Prepaid MasterCard is highly secure, providing the same protection you would expect from any standard MasterCard. This includes robust fraud monitoring, Chip and Pin technology, and the ability to report lost or stolen cards.
Is there a replacement card fee?
Yes, there is a £7.50 fee for replacing a lost or stolen card.
How do I lodge a complaint or contact customer service?

How do I check my balance of funds?
You can easily check your balance in the user-friendly app.
Is there anywhere I can’t use my SecOre card?
You can’t use the card at Gambling sites or for Adult Entertainment services.
Can I use my SecOre card at all EMR locations?
Yes! It doesn't matter which site originally issued your card, the value of any materials you drop-off can be added at all our UK recycling centres.
Is the SecOre card linked to my bank account?
No, your SecOre card is not linked to your bank account.
Do I need to give you anything else to set up a SecOre card?
The great news is, if you have an up-to-date EMR account we can set you up right way!
If not, all that is needed is valid ID, proof of address, your mobile phone number and your active email address.
Acceptable photo ID includes:
- UK/EU Driving Licence
- UK Passport
- EU (European Union) / European Economic Area (EEA) Passports
- UK Biometric Immigration Document
- EU National ID Card
For payment, please bring a photo ID along with proof of address, which must be dated within the last three months and presented in their original form.
Acceptable proof of address includes:
- Bank or Building Society statement
- Credit or Debit Card statement
- Council Tax demand letter or statement
- Utility bill such as water, electricity or gas (not including mobile phone)
- Mortgage statement
- HMRC correspondence
- TV Licence
The easiest form of identification to bring is a UK driving licence, as this will serve as both your photo identification and proof of address.
Will I be credit checked?
No credit checks are performed when setting up your SecOre card.
