EMR Sponsors Tilbury's Picnic in the Park for Second Consecutive Year

Local metal recycler EMR, which has two Tilbury sites; EMR East Tilbury and EMR Tilbury Dock, have continued its commitment to the local community by donating £2,000 to the Tilbury Riverside Project. The funds were dedicated to organising the highly anticipated annual event 'Tilbury's Picnic in the Park', bringing a day of celebrations and fun to residents.

The event, which was held on Anchor Field and organised by Tilbury Riverside Project, took place on the 9th of August and was free to members of the local community. The Tilbury Riverside Project is renowned for its commitment to economic, social, and environmental initiatives in the area. Since it was established by Peter Hewitt in 1992, Tilbury Riverside Project has been at the forefront of cultural regeneration in Tilbury and its surrounding region, and through many initiatives, from planting gardens to events including Picnic in the Park, the project has made a huge positive impact.

On the day of the event, adults and children alike enjoyed a fair, music, face painting, games, and an array of stalls from small businesses, and food and drink vendors local to Tilbury. The investment from EMR helped to cover the cost of the stage, entertainment, rides and first aiders, ensuring that the event continued to be free of charge to local people.

This donation marks the third time that EMR has supported the Tilbury event, with a cumulative contribution of £6,000 over the last few years.
