Local metal recycler supports youth development by partnering with local charity ESTEEM
EMR Shoreham, based on Brighton Road, has partnered with ESTEEM to support the charity’s Youth Development Programme.

ESTEEM, a Sussex based youth charity, offers a range of opportunities to young adults between the ages of 14-26 years old, helping them to build confidence, develop life skills and improve their well-being. By using mentoring and, one-to-one support to improve wellbeing, and volunteering opportunities to help young people build their CVs, ESTEEM helps young people to identify their life goals and supports them in the transition into adulthood.
EMR’s donation allows ESTEEM to support 40 young people on its Youth Development Programme. As part of the programme young people carry out volunteer hours, attend workshops and take part in project based work, all of which culminates in a mock interview to help them demonstrate the skills they have acquired ready for a job interview.
Tony Wenham, Operations Manager at EMR Shoreham explained why it was more important than ever for them to be able to support ESTEEM:
“With the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, many young people are finding it harder than ever to find employment opportunities and even harder to find the support they need with the recruitment process.
“I have no doubt that through our partnership with ESTEEM we will be able to help many young people find successful and long-lasting careers.”
ESTEEM joins a number of charities, social enterprises and community groups which have partnered with EMR as part of its Young Futures Reimagined programme, an initiative which helps young people up and down the country build brighter futures.
Emma Brockhurst, ESTEEM, added:
“We are delighted to be supported by EMR Shoreham and look forward to working with the team to empower local young people. Their personal and professional knowledge will be invaluable in making our vocational programmes a success”
